Be a Pirate! Towers: Roles, Bridges and Route Planning

Be a Pirate! has 12 towers and two simultaneous threats: Crownsmen approaching on foot and Crown Sloops travelling along the river. Building changes the land route, while the river follows a fixed course.

Land Routes, Bridges and Sloops

Land enemies reroute as you build. A bridge creates a land crossing over water, adding another possible path for ground movement. Crown Sloops pass underneath bridges unaffected, so a crossing does not block the river or stop its traffic.

Palisades, bridges and the Commodore's Flag are excluded from the attacking-tower restriction in Old Faithful: from Map 6 onward, win using only one kind of attacking tower. That distinction matters when counting tower types for this challenge.

Tower	Role
Cannon	Straightforward attacking tower.
Voodoo Cauldron	Poison-based attacking tower.
Heliograph Battery	Beam-focused attacking tower.
The Commodore's Flag	Support tower that increases the damage dealt by nearby towers.

The Commodore's Flag supports surrounding damage dealers, while the other named towers provide attacks of their own.

There are five damage types: Physical, Fire, Ice, Electric and Poison. Enemies have resistances and weaknesses, so damage type affects how well an attack works against a target.

Battle Upgrades

Spend Doubloons during a battle to develop a tower through four tracks: Offense, Range, Specialty and Signature. Specialty is specific to the tower, and Signature provides a unique ability that changes how it fights. Towers change both visually and functionally as they grow.
